Science Outreach. It all started in the spring of 2012. With an intrinsic desire to spread the wonders of neuroscience I myself had initially discovered out of curiosity, my connection with an inspirational professor upon returning to academia came the chance to plan, teach and participate in a neuroscience outreach programs for undeserved schools in the Portland (Oregon) metro area.
From there, Sabin Braaains!!! was born, a class dedicated to bringing neuroscience to the classroom during the school-year in a fun, engaging, and interactive manner. Beyond the classroom, students were invited up to the Oregon Health & Science University to participate in tours of the research facilities, participate in mock MRIs, get up close with an MRI machine, and interact with scientists!
